11-13 July (3 days) – Brass Monkey Ride – Denman via Lithgow

Break out the thermals and winter riding gear and switch on those heated grips!

Leaving Friday from Canberra Exhibition Park Macca’s and Ampol Servo at 0930hrs. Meet up with Chic (Jeff) and others for the 1st day ride to Lithgow to stay at the Commercial Hotel. A cruisey 282 km to Lithgow so plenty of time to stop for coffee and lunch etc.

Second day we ride from Lithgow at 10.00hrs to Denman via the Putty Road (yes! the roadworks have been completed) and stay at the Denman Motor Inn. Book and pay on-line or call Nick on 0265472462.

Another cruisey ride to Denman of only 288 km so lots of time for coffee and a bite at Grey Gum Café.

Sunday we ride home via Bylong, Bathurst, Trunkey Creek, Crookwell etc. A reasonable ride of 478klm.

So that is where the HAF comes into it, being a longish ride for some. The Brass Monkey side of it, is because it’s the middle of winter, but we are travelling north in search of sunshine. Which brings me to the weather, IF it’s deemed to be absolute crap for the proposed weekend – we have arranged with the accommodation suppliers to re-arrange our stay for the following weekend (18th to the 20th July) and we will make that discission on Monday 7th July and I’ll call or get in touch with all those coming to let you know… It will then become known as the SAF ride. The forecasted conditions will have to be VERY bad for that to happen, a shower or two will not deter us.
