8th & 9th August – Brass Monkey Ride to Marlo

An overnight ride to Marlo.  For those that don’t know, Marlo sits at the mouth of the Snowy River, just to keep the cold theme going.  It’s not a massive town but there are a few accommodation options available, the main ones being the Marlo Hotel and the Marlo Caravan Park and Motel across the road.  The pub has nice rooms and great food.  The Caravan Park looks to have a range of cabins and motel rooms.  Both options can be booked online.  Phone numbers are Marlo Hotel – 03 5154 8201 and the Caravan Park is – 03 5154 8226.  As usual you’ll need to make your own booking for the Saturday night.

Given it still being winter we won’t be starting too early – I would rather minimise the chances of hitting any of the slippery black stuff and I’d like to finish well before the sun dips too low.  There are a few options for the ride there and back, with many good roads to choose from, although I do intend covering the ‘Bonang’ at least once over the weekend.  Final decisions can be made on the day and in line with whatever conditions we are presented with.
