2020 Phil Goldacre Khancoban Ride
November 14 @ 8:00 am - November 15 @ 5:00 pm
It seems we have finally made it to that time of the year again: Khancoban is just around the corner.
If you have not already done so, please contact the Alpine Inn at Khancoban on 6076 9471, by email at firstname.lastname@example.org, or through facebook. Please let them know you are coming with the Canberra District Ducati Club.
We will be meeting at the Caltex in Hume at 8 am for an 8.30 departure on the Saturday with stops for: morning tea in Adaminaby; lunch at Tumut River Brewing Company; and other stops for fuel as necessary.
I understand Mr Anastasios Samios is organising a run down to Harrietville on Friday 13 November as an opportunity to make up for lost opportunities for QLD-based members who missed out on the inaugural Peter Yeend Memorial Ride. If you plan on doing this ride, please contact the CDDC Catering Division and make sure you pack your copy of the Australian Constitution. Bonus points for anyone who cross-references to the Club’s constitution.
I’ve been in contact with my counterpart in DOCNSW, Chris Mifsud. It appears that the DOCNSW gang are organising a long run drown the South-Eastern portion of their territory to engage with members.
Chris has suggested that we do a meetup at khancoban with the DOCNSW gang and I think it’s a great idea. There’s only one catch: we can’t be shown up by DOCNSW; we need to turn up in numbers!
In their haste to Join us, the DOCNSW mob have booked the whole pub. I am currently working to identify alternate options.
So far, I’ve been in contact with the lakeside caravan park which has 2 cabins with 1 queen and 2 short bunks each. The owner has said she might have more single lodging rooms become available once the army is no longer required to enforce border closures.
The are also a couple of AirBNB places in Corryong. The committee is in conference to figure out where we will stay. Hopefully I’ll have some ideas before the AGM.
